Had a great weekend at Putnam Park. Our Saturday sessions were cut short from a off track incident in turn 9 with a advanced run group driver in the morning and a thunderstorm later in the afternoon. Sunday weather was great and the only other incident was from a mechanical failure that spilled fluid on the track during the last session of the day.

Big thanks to Mark Wilson and his volunteers for running a great event as usual, can't wait to see next years schedule which will probably have 5 track events available :tmb:

Congratulations to Windy City SVTOA's Jim Banasiak for winning the Great Lakes Region Track Dawg Challenge Contest. Everyone that attended 3 of 4 great lakes region track events this year were entered in a contest to have those track fees refunded in a drawing at the saturday banquet. Jim was one of only two or three people to attend all four events; Autobahn CC, Gingerman, Waterford, and Putnam Park. That's going to be one nice refund check

There's plenty of run off at Putnam except for turn 9 (tire wall) and turn 10 (guard rail). I managed to brake too late for turn 7 on my second session Saturday and ended up with all four tires in the grass :spank:

Gotta love the front straight at Putnam, some of the guys driving terminators were reaching speeds of 125mph :wow:

We always seem to be the one of the last people to leave the track. Skipping the last session of the day to get on the road early has never even been considered

I think you're very smart. In fact, for next year's track events, I'm going to take Monday off of work instead of Friday. That way I can get the best track time (on Sunday afternoon) and take my time getting home on Monday.
