NASA NE is sponsoring a HPDE at Pocono South 8/27 & 8/28.
http://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_event/list_events
This event is sanctioned and hosted by NASA NE for Entropy Racing! We will host HPDE sessions both days for all levels. Saturday will feature a NASA-sanctioned Competition Licensing school. You MUST have permission before entering the school. Call Charlie Greenhaus at 570-682-9666. License candidates must have a car meeting at minimum NASA Race safety requirements per the NASA CCR. they must also have complete personal racing driver safety gear including nomex suit (sfi5 with nomex underwear or multi-layer), nomex socks, SA95 or better helmet, gloves and shoes. Please contact Charlie Greenhaus at 570-682-9666 for information. When you enter, ignore that it says "not available" under Class and just check the box at the left and ADD (at bottom) the line. On Sunday racers will get a Practice session followed by a Sprint Race qualifier for a One-hour Enduro. There will be a mandatory driver-out pit stop during the enduro so that multi-driver cars have a chance at the overall win. Multi-driver cars will not incur any additional fees. All racers must have either a NASA Comp license or a license from a NASA-approved santioning body. Licensees from other groups must submit a $50 fee and a NASA Comp License application at the event in order to race. If you are unsure of your HPDE group please contact regional-director@nasanortheast.org All new Instructors must have prior approval before registering. Please contact registration@nasanortheast.org for approval. NASA-certified instructors from other regions may simply register.
I'm registered for the 27th.
Anyone interested?
Paul,
Get those new tires yet?

Damn Bruce! I didn't think you were going in August so I had myself convinced it would be too hot anyway and I'd put the money toward the suspension work I am going to have Brooks performance do in the off season. Just now registered will have to get the car ready quick. Still can't believe how hard that little course was on the brakes, tires and gas.
I'm in Bro!!!!

Paul,
Sorry Dude! My work travel fell through for August and I just couldn't miss the chance to test my new KB Brake Ducts. But, I'm very glad for the company. Now, if we could only get that Chicken Jaimie to come along! (I'm sure he'll have some excuse, like a wedding or surfing! )
Come on Jamie! You can't use that "can't pass" excuse here!
As for that little track's wear on equipment... Tell me about it! (Don't forget, my car was doing double duty, with myself and my brother driving!) I'm just hoping I can make it through this event with enough rubber left for one more event. Because, it's looking like my work travel for September is going to fall through as well and if it does, I'm doing Watkins Glen!
I signed up for HPDE1 again. How about you?
So... Are we meeting at Wal-Mart again at 6 AM? Don't forget to bring Jamie with you!

The Pocono Raceway (NASCAR) is divided into multiple, smaller road race tracks by its infield. (North, South & East)
http://www.poconoraceway.com/
NASA NE typically uses the South track.
So Herb... Are you going to join us?

So once again it will be the blue and the grey representing SVT's finest against the asian and german hordes.
HPDE 1 for me as well.
Hopefully you will see a kinder and gentler sonic cobra learning to go faster!
I can meet up with you same place same time, just remind me where it was.
It was so hot this weekend I watched two Nascar races at the glen on TV. Those guys were going through the esses at 130 mph! Looks like a really fun and fast course, but tons of green guard rails.I can't make Sapt due to work commitments. Next Year!

It would be nice if we could get some of those "Straight Line" boys to join us. ;)

Just remember to leave that ego at home. :bash:

I'd liked to have watched those races, as Watkins Glen is one of the few races that the NASCAR boys actually have to steer their cars! It must have been some awesome races.
Watkins Glen is supposed to be a very challenging track! It's like Summit Point's Shenadoah Track... NO PLACE TO GO if you leave the track!
Hey Joe!
What has Watkins Glen been like for you? Have you run the 'R" on it?

I may not be able to make Watkins Glen either. I'll have to wait until the last moment, like I had to do for this Pocono event.

What Nomex safety gear?
All you need for HPDE is a car that passes tech and a M95 helmet! :bash:
All that safety stuff listed above is for the Competition License Class & Racers! :bash:
No more excuses! Be there!

The Glen is awesome. It is The Favorite among road racers, hands down!
I haven't had the R there, but have raced there a lot in the '66. Don't think about it, just do it !!!!!!!!!! :bna :tmb:

I could just scream! :knock:
Too many days on Pocono killed my tires and another set is not in this year's budget. So, no Glen for me this year! :( :(
Unless... Jaime would be nice enough to give me his Firestone Certificate he won. :tmb: It's not like he ever uses his Cobra enough to need another set of tires. ;)
